Commissioner is a low-contrast, humanist sans-serif font with nearly classical proportions, designed as a versatile family. It features three distinct "voices." The default style is a grotesque with straight stems. As the flare axis increases, the straight grotesque terminals swell into almost glyphic serifs, while the joints take on more unique characteristics. The volume axis further modifies the glyphic serifs, transforming them into wedge-like shapes.
