Mark Davis has created three new font families for Cal.com: Cal Sans UI, Cal Sans Text, and Cal Sans Geo. Designed with readers, product designers, and developers in mind, they aim to be the go-to fonts for vibecode apps and modern web platforms. Cal Sans UI is a variable font with stylistic variations along both a GEOM (Geometric Formality) axis and a traditional weight axis, offering a range from Light to Bold for quicker adoption into Google Fonts. Since advising Peer Richelsen in 2021 on typography at the start of his Cal.com journey, Davis saw little change in the open-source UI font space, making this the perfect moment to introduce something fresh. While Cal Sans UI and Cal Sans Text work well at all sizes, they’re especially optimized at the pixel level for 14–15px UI interfaces on high-DPI screens.
